Bio

Susana Bates recently returned to the San Francisco Bay Area. She spent eight years working full time as a contract photographer for the New York Daily News, where she covered local and national stories.

She is the photographer for two books, "Baby's First Year" and "Parenting a Preschooler," both published by Knack. She is currently working on a third book in the Knack series.

Susana started her photography career interning at the Oakland Tribune in 2001 and later at La Nacion in Costa Rica. Her work has appeared in many publications, including Newsweek, Good Morning America/ABC, Fortune Magazine, People Magazine, Car and Driver, Sky and Telescope, and Life Magazine's Year in Pictures. She is fluent in Spanish and available for assignment worldwide.
